Every voice silenced by racism is a story untold. Every incident ignored is injustice allowed to flourish.

Wirral Against Racism exists because our communities deserve better, and because change happens when we refuse to look away.

“There are three types of people: people who are racists and know it, people who are racist but don’t know or think they are (which is by far the largest group) and people who aren’t racist at all. Now, if a Black footballer speaks out against racism, wears the Kick It Out T-shirt, etc., who does that have an effect on? The people who belong to the first group don’t care and won’t suddenly have an epiphany to stop being racist; the racist football fan will not act racist towards the Black player on his team but will continue to do so towards the Black opposition … so no change there. The people in the second group don’t actually think they’re racist so they feel it doesn’t apply to them … no change there. Finally, the people in the third group don’t need to change as they have no racial bias to start with … so overall nothing changes.

What we need to do is to explain to people WHY it’s wrong to be racist, and how we all became racially biased in the first place through unconscious conditioning.”

John Barnes, England and Liverpool football legend in his book The Uncomfortable Truth about Racism

“For years, racism has been defined by the violence of far-right extremists, but a more insidious kind of prejudice can be found where many least expect it – at the heart of respectable society”

Reni Eddo Lodge in her book Why I’m no longer talking to white people about race

About Us

Born from a refusal to stay silent, we emerged when our communities needed a voice that wouldn’t be ignored. What started as documenting incidents has evolved into a powerful movement where victims become advocates and isolated experiences spark collective action.

We don’t just expose racism; we dismantle it through education, evidence gathering and unwavering advocacy. From supporting victims to challenging perpetrators, we’re building the inclusive communities that the Wirral and the rest of the UK deserve.

Our Mission

Real change starts with understanding.
We work with local partners to educate communities about the impact of racism whilst fostering respect, understanding and unity. Through events, workshops and resources, we’re building inclusion.

We transform individual experiences into collective action by documenting and evidencing racist incidents across the Wirral and the UK, whilst protecting victim anonymity. We provide victims with vital support, evidence-gathering technology and expertise, and we help bring stronger cases to the authorities. When the system fails, we pursue private prosecutions and offer educational services to perpetrators through partner agencies.

From support to challenge, from evidence to education, we’re dismantling racism one case at a time.

Break the Silence. Take a Stand.

Have you or someone you know been subjected to racism? Whether you've experienced it first-hand, witnessed it, or heard about an incident in your community, your voice matters. Every report helps expose racism and drive change.
